Celebrity Driver Bios
8/15/10
We are fortunate to have two guest drivers with us here at Hallett, and they have been tearing around the track as hard as the regulars!
Steven Cole Smith is a writer for AutoWeek magazine, and he has been tearing it up in the white #53 ACR-X.
Richie Hearn placed 2nd in the race yesterday, extremely impressive considering he hasn't raced since 2007; that being in an open-wheel Formula car. In fact, Mr. Hearn has never even raced in closed cockpit sports cars until this weekend!
Hearn has run in 7 Indy 500 races, with a best finish of 3rd place.
Just when you think it doesn't get any sweeter, Richie donated 100% of his winnings to the Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation.
The drivers are hitting the track for the practice session prior to the second and final race of Hallett, OK.
Qualifying is at 10AM and the race is at 1:25PM, so hang in there for qualifying and race results, we will post them as soon as they are in!

It is 4PM on Friday the 13th, but the curse doesn't apply to the lucky Viper owners and drivers here in Oklahoma; though a few Corvette's have found their way into the wall.
Neil Hannemann has held the titles of Chief Engineer at Ford and Saleen, Executive Director at McLaren and Program Manager of the Viper GTS/R.
Impressive, right?
Mr. Hannemann is at the track with us, helping Ben Keating analyze every aspect of the #33 ACR-X. The Viper Cup series is composed of stock ACR-X's with no modifications allowed, which puts the crew and drivers into creativity mode tweaking any and all things tweak-able!
In other news, Bernie Katz has been hitting the track in a brand new Corvette Z06 sporting 505 HP, playing the role of instructor for new-to-road-course owner/driver Rick Lipscomb.
Enjoy these pictures of Neil and Ben talking over the #33, and Bernie Katz checking the rotors and brake pads on Mr. Lipscomb's Z06. Be SURE to check back tomorrow as we will be posting up to the minute qualifying and race results!
